They say the best ideas are born out of necessity. LYHO was born out of a need that us Canarians know well... and the desire to finally turn things around.

I'm Carolina, from Gran Canaria, and from here I always experienced the same thing: I'd fall in love with a piece of clothing and read "not available in the Canary Islands." And when I did manage to order something, the other side of island life would kick in: customs delays, DUA payments, weeks of waiting.

On top of that, there was the usual: trends would arrive here when they were already on their way out on the mainland, and big brands never thought about us. We live in an almost eternal summer here, but fashion seasons don't reflect that, and you have to search for fresh clothes just when stores are filling up with coats.

And there was something else, perhaps what bothered me the most: the lack of variety. We almost always depend on large multinationals and the same four stores, so I was tired of showing up to an event and seeing several women dressed just like me. And when I looked for other options in boutiques, almost all of them opted for low quality, or very high quality at exorbitant prices, while the segment of good quality at an intermediate price remained practically empty. There was a lack of timeless options designed for the Canarian climate.

I soon realized I wasn't the only one: there were many women who thought exactly the same. And from that, a beautiful idea was born: to create a community of women who talk about fashion and decide together what is worth bringing to the Canary Islands.

So I stopped waiting and researched the main manufacturing locations.

I ended up choosing Turkey because they manufacture a lot of clothing designed for the Middle East — warm, dry, and desert climates — which perfectly matches ours. Also because of their very good quality fabrics, which breathe and are made for real heat. And because we wanted to avoid the eternal "Made in China." So, without much thought, we headed to Turkey. I spent two weeks visiting supplier after supplier, comparing qualities, and discarding what wasn't up to par, until I found what the women of the islands deserve.

And that's how LYHO was born: the brand I would have loved to find, brought to life with all of you.

At LYHO, I personally select each collection: current design, fabrics that feel good to the touch, and imported quality that usually doesn't easily reach here. We sell online from the Canary Islands to the whole world, because good things don't have to come from far away or make you wait.

I didn't want to open just another store. I wanted to create a place where you feel like yourself, unafraid to try new styles, where you can find unique clothing.
